Dr. Md. Saiful Islam is a distinguished professor with nearly forty-three years of esteemed academic, research, and industry experience. A graduate of Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (BUET), he began his academic career at Dhaka University of Engineering and Technology (DUET) before moving to Chittagong University of Engineering and Technology (CUET). At CUET, he has held significant academic and administrative roles, including Head of the Civil Engineering Department, Dean of Engineering, Syndicate Member, and Vice-Chancellor (in charge).

Prof. Saiful is a Fellow of the Institution of Engineers, Bangladesh (IEB) and brings substantial industry experience from his work with the Bureau of Research, Testing, and Consultancy (BRTC, Civil) at CUET. He has supervised eight graduate theses, including two doctoral and six M.Sc./M.Eng. theses, and has examined numerous graduate reports and theses. His scholarly contributions include more than 20 highly regarded research articles and presentations at various conferences, focusing on concrete strength, properties, and renewable materials in structural engineering.
