EWU Civil Engineering Program Earns Prestigious IEB Accreditation under the Washington Accord
The Department of Civil Engineering at East West University (EWU) is proud to announce that its Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering program has received the first ever accreditation from the Institution of Engineers, Bangladesh (IEB). This prestigious recognition is granted by the Board of Accreditation for Engineering and Technical Education (BAETE) under the Washington Accord Manual (Version 2.1), for a period of three years—from March 2025.
This significant achievement makes EWU Civil Engineering the 9th program in Bangladesh to receive accreditation as the youngest civil engineering program in the country (program started in 2017). Now EWU graduates will be eligible for all professional and academic benefits offered by IEB, enhancing their global mobility and recognition in the engineering field.
Congratulations to all the faculty members, students, and alumni who selflessly contributed to this endeavor and make it possible to achieve such a remarkable milestone. The Civil Engineering family extends its heartfelt thanks to the EWU authority and all relevant offices who supported the process of this achievement.
