The inaugural Executive Committee of the Civil Engineering Alumni Association  (EWUCEAA)  held its first official meeting with the Department of Civil Engineering on 25 June 2026 at East West University. The meeting was attended by all committee members except one. Dr. Fuad Yasin Huda participated in the meeting on behalf of the Department as the Faculty Advisor to the Association. 

The meeting centered on several foundational aspects of establishing the Association, including its organizational structure, official name and logo, the preparation of its constitution and bylaws, and the formulation of its mission and vision. Committee members also discussed a range of flagship initiatives designed to strengthen alumni engagement and foster a vibrant alumni network. Proposed activities included social gatherings, annual picnics, sports tournaments, higher education and career development seminars, and a large-scale cultural event to enhance the Association's visibility and presence within the East West University community.

In addition, the committee proposed launching an official website, establishing dedicated social media platforms, and creating an official WhatsApp community to facilitate communication and engagement among alumni. A structured volunteer recruitment framework was also discussed to encourage broader alumni participation and ensure the long-term growth and sustainability of the Association. The meeting concluded with a shared commitment from both the Department and the Executive Committee to work collaboratively toward building a dynamic and impactful alumni network that will benefit current students, graduates, and the wider civil engineering community of EWU.
