Seminar on Civil Engineering Mega Projects: From Vision to Completion and Beyond

The Department of Civil Engineering at East West University (EWU) organized a seminar titled “Civil Engineering Mega Projects: From Vision to Completion and Beyond” on April 19, 2026, at the Razia Samad Lecture Gallery. The keynote speaker, Mohammad Masudur Rahman Bhuiyan, Country Head (Bangladesh) of SMEC, shared his extensive expertise in planning, designing, and delivering large-scale infrastructure projects across diverse environments.

In his presentation, Mr. Bhuiyan provided valuable insights into the lifecycle of mega projects, emphasizing the transition from conceptual vision to successful implementation and long-term sustainability. He discussed key challenges such as project management complexities, risk mitigation, stakeholder coordination, and the integration of innovative engineering solutions. Real-world examples from international and local projects enriched the discussion, offering students a practical understanding of modern engineering practices.

The seminar witnessed enthusiastic participation from students and faculty members, particularly during the interactive Q&A session, where attendees engaged in meaningful discussions with the speaker. The program concluded with a formal vote of thanks and presentation of a token of appreciation to Mr. Bhuiyan for his insightful contribution.
