SECOND FIELD SURVEY OF FALL 2025 SEMESTER, HELD IN AFTABNAGAR PLAYGROUND, DHAKA.

Field surveys play a vital role in helping civil engineering students gain practical experience in modern surveying techniques. The Department of Civil Engineering at East West University successfully conducted its second field survey for the course “Surveying and Introduction to GIS” (CE103/CE7103) on November 30, 2025, at the Aftabnagar Playground in Dhaka. The session was supervised by the department’s faculty members, Md. Rizwan Muztaba Khan and Md. Taki Tajwar, along with three lab officers. They provided continuous guidance and ensured that students had access to all necessary surveying instruments throughout the fieldwork.

During the survey, students engaged in a variety of real-world surveying tasks, including traverse surveying, trigonometric leveling, and circular curve setting. These activities enabled them to experience practical challenges commonly encountered in professional surveying environments. This hands-on exposure significantly enhanced students’ proficiency in handling surveying equipment and strengthened their ability to troubleshoot field-related issues. By bridging the gap between theoretical knowledge and practical application, the field survey enriched their learning experience and better prepared them for future academic and professional success.
