SECOND FIELD SURVEY OF FALL 2024 SEMESTER, HELD IN AFTABNAGAR PLAYGROUND, DHAKA.
Field surveys are essential for civil engineering students to gain hands-on experience in surveying techniques. The Civil Engineering (CE) Department at East West University organized its second field survey for the "Surveying and Introduction to GIS" (CE103/CE7103) course on January 11, 2025, at Aftabnagar Playground in Dhaka. The department’s faculty members, Dr. Khondoker Billah and Eng. Rizwan Muztaba, along with three lab officers, supervised the enthusiastic students enrolled in CE103&CE7103 during this session and provided them with the necessary surveying instruments.
During the survey, students faced real-world surveying challenges. The tasks included traverse, trigonometric, and circular curve setting, which offered valuable experience and deepened their understanding of the subject. This practical exposure is expected to improve the student's skills in using surveying equipment and addressing common issues encountered in professional surveying contexts, allowing them to gain valuable insights. Furthermore, this hands-on exposure is anticipated to strengthen their abilities in using surveying equipment and effectively addressing practical issues that arise in professional surveying environments. Overall, this initiative has significantly enriched the students' learning experience and prepared them for future success in their careers.
