EWU Civil Engineering showed excellence in IPESphere 2025 at Shahjalal University of Science and Technology (SUST)
The Department of Industrial and Production Engineering (IPE) at Shahjalal University of Science and Technology (SUST) marked their 3 decades of excellence with a grand celebration and the launch of "IPESphere", a national-level competition dedicated to showcasing talent, fostering innovation, and inspiring creativity. The event was dated February 7-8, 2025. Three teams from EWU Civil Engineering Department participated in the event. Two teams in the CAD Competition and another in the Business Case Competition, Guided by club moderator Dr. Sadik Rahman.
The event was inaugurated with a warm welcome from the event organizers and given a preparation space before the competition. The selected teams arrived at the event after the primary selection. The CAD Competition comprised of complex 2D, and 3D design tasks related to mechanical and industrial engineering. After jury evaluations, the results were announced in the evening. East West Strain, represented by Yeamin Dewan Abir, secured 8th place out of 74 teams, while EWU Stress, consisting of Hasibur Rahman Fardin and MD. Khairul Islam Hafiz, finished with 11th place. Competing against IPE and mechanical engineering students and securing 8th and 11th positions by EWU Strain and Stress teams were very significant. EWU teams were the first in line among the private university participants. Despite the unfamiliar domain, EWU teams adapted quickly and completed the task with close precision. The experience enhanced their technical expertise, adaptability, and problem-solving skills.
Such participation is very important for EWU student engagement and communication through competitive challenges where EWU civil engineering club will commit to promote among civil engineering students. We wish all the best to the students for their participation and achievements.
