Faculty Retreat Program, Faculty of Sciences and Engineering (FSE), EWU
The Faculty of Sciences and Engineering (FSE) of East West University organized its Faculty Retreat Program on 17 January 2026 at BRAC CDM, Savar, to foster collaboration, assess departmental performance, and outline future strategies. The event commenced with a group photo and networking breakfast, followed by welcoming remarks from the Dean, Treasurer, Pro Vice-Chancellor, and Vice Chancellor, who inaugurated the retreat emphasizing academic reflection and institutional growth.
Departmental presentations began at 10:45 AM, covering six departments. The Department of Civil Engineering (CE) showed significant progress with BAETE accreditation, 70% PhD-qualified faculty, and nine operational laboratories. Strengths included high teaching quality and students course completion, rising research output, with high publication record per faculty between 2024–2025.
The day concluded with a cultural session featuring songs and poetry, including a recitation by the Vice Chancellor inspired by Alexander Pushkin. The program ended with a raffle draw awarding three FSE faculty members, followed by refreshments.
