East West University, June 17, 2025 — Civil Engineering Department Welcomes 25th Batch with Enthusiastic Orientation Program

On Tuesday, June 17, 2025, the Department of Civil Engineering at East West University warmly welcomed its 25th batch of undergraduate students through a lively and informative orientation program. The event marked the beginning of the Summer 2025 semester and the start of an exciting academic journey for the new students.

The program officially commenced at 10:00 AM, graced by the presence of distinguished guests, including Professor Dr. Md. Saiful Islam and Dr. Md. Naimul Haque, Chairperson of the Civil Engineering Department. Faculty members and administrative officers were also present, extending a heartfelt welcome to the freshers. The day began with a Departmental Session, where students were introduced to the department’s academic framework, organizational structure, key activities, and the wide range of opportunities that lie ahead in their civil engineering journey.

This was followed by an Advising Session, during which students met their academic advisor and were briefed on academic responsibilities, expectations, and essential conduct to maintain throughout their undergraduate studies.

Next came a special session conducted by the Students’ Welfare and Career Counseling Centre (CCC), where students learned about the support services available to guide their personal and professional development throughout their time at the university. After the CCC session, students participated in a Campus Tour, led by enthusiastic volunteers from the Civil Engineering Club. This guided tour offered a glimpse into various labs, classrooms, and other key facilities within the department.

Upon returning from the tour, the Civil Engineering Club hosted a short and engaging presentation, showcasing departmental achievements, co-curricular activities, and the vibrant culture that defines the Civil Engineering community at EWU. Informative slides and videos provided freshers with a deeper understanding of the student experience.

The session concluded with an interactive segment where students shared their excitement and reflections about joining the department. A fun question and-answer game, organized by club members, fostered a friendly and energetic atmosphere. Finally, the orientation wrapped up with a lunch session, providing a relaxed setting for students to socialize, build connections, and begin their journey as part of the East West University Civil Engineering family. Organized and managed by 15 committed volunteers from the Civil Engineering Club, the orientation successfully created an environment of warmth, enthusiasm, and belonging, setting the perfect tone for a promising academic path ahead.
