CIVIL ENGINEERING STUDENTS GAIN PRACTICAL EXPERIENCE IN FIRST TASK OF SPRING 2026 FIELD SURVEY, HELD IN AFTABNAGAR PLAYGROUND, DHAKA.

On April 5, 2026, the Department of Civil Engineering at East West University successfully hosted its first field survey of the Spring 2026 semester. Students from the "Surveying and Introduction to GIS" courses (CE103/CE7103) visited the Aftabnagar Playground to put their classroom learning into practice in a real-world environment.

Under the careful guidance of dedicated faculty members, lab officers, and supportive Teaching Assistants (TAs), the students eagerly immersed themselves in a dynamic series of hands-on surveying tasks. This interactive outdoor session beautifully illustrates the department's deep commitment to experiential learning. By stepping out of the traditional classroom and navigating an actual physical landscape, students transitioned from simply studying theoretical models to actively mapping real-world terrain. This immersive approach allowed them to visualize core concepts in action, adapt to on-the-spot environmental challenges, and significantly sharpen the critical problem-solving skills they will need in the field.

To support this hands-on approach to education, the university administration generously covered all expenses for the event. Ultimately, the experience helped students become more comfortable with professional surveying equipment, ensuring they are well-prepared for the technical demands of their future engineering careers.
