The Department of Civil Engineering warmly welcomed the 20^th batch of the program on 1^st June 2023. A total of 44 students enrolled in this Summer 2023 semester among which, 38 students participated in the orientation ceremony. The event was successfully organized by the East West University Civil Engineering Club (ECEC) where faculties and existing students warmly greeted the newly admitted students. Freshers were welcomed with refreshing flowers. Mr. Arafat Ibna Wohab and Ms. Sadia Islam Hema, students from batch 10 and batch 18 hosted the program. The event began at 12:30 pm, right after the central orientation was ended.

The event started with an overview of the civil department, available facilities and introducing the faculties. Afterwards, Asso. Prof. Dr. Md. Naimul Haque, the honorable chairperson of the Civil Engineering department, and Asst. Prof. Dr. Md. Kamruzzaman Talukder welcomed the students with their valuable speeches and instructions. Additionally, the students introduced themselves to the session attendees. Mr. Arefin Siddique, the president, and Mr. Mustafizur Rahman, the general secretary of the ECEC committee, shared their well wishes and invited the freshers to join the club.

The following session was faculty advising, directed by Asso. Prof. Dr. Md. Tawfiq Sarwar. He instructed the students about advising the courses and answered their questions regarding it. Afterwards, refreshment was served to the freshers and followed by a friendly conversation with ECEC members. The ceremony was concluded by taking a group photo of the freshers with the faculty members and organizers.
