The Department of Civil Engineering (CE) of East West University (EWU) organized an orientation program on 29th September 2022 at the university campus of Aftabnagar, Dhaka for their newly admitted students of Fall 2022 semester. Students admitted into Fall 2022 semester are the 18^th batch of CE Department. The chairperson and other faculty members of the department attended the orientation program. Dr. Md. Naimul Haque, Chairperson of the CE Department welcomed all the newly admitted students warm heartedly with his welcome speech. The program was an interactive session comprising of orientation with the faculty members, lab officers, department officer, and various facilities of both the CE Department and the university.

At the beginning of the program, Assistant Professor Dr. Md. Sumon Reza gave a short intro about Civil Engineering and its major branches. Dr. Talukder, Assistant Professor, Department of CE emphasized on the importance of leading a healthy life in connection to the teaching-learning process of Engineering education. Assistant Professor Dr. Sarwar spoke to the Freshers’ about the prospect of Civil Engineering both in home and abroad. Dr. Sumon Reza, Assistant Professor, Department of CE gave a presentation for the Freshers’ regarding the university academic system, various rules and regulation and facilities of the university. The chairperson and all the speakers welcomed the newly admitted students to the EWU campus and advised them to make the best use of university resource and be a worthy citizen of the country. The program concluded with a short campus tour by the senior students of the department.
