Department of Pharmacy, East West University hosted a vibrant orientation program on May 14, 2026 to welcome the newly admitted students of Fall 2026 semester. Honorable Pro-Vice Chancellor of EWU, Professor Dr. Mohammad Ashik Mosaddik, graced the program as the chief guest and the program was chaired by Professor Dr. Md. Amirul Islam, Chairperson of the Department of Pharmacy. Distinguished faculty members, alumni, and students were also present in the program.

Professor Dr. Mohammad Ashik Mosaddik welcomed the students and inspired them to work for the welfare of humanity and contribute to social health. Professor Dr. Md. Amirul Islam warmly welcomed the new students and congratulated them on becoming part of the EWU family. Professor Dr. Chowdhury Faiz Hossain also congratulated the students for securing admission through a highly competitive examination.

The event also featured inspiring stories from accomplished alumni speakers. Among them were Mr. B.M. Konok, Deputy Manager, Product Management Department, Popular Pharmaceuticals PLC., and Ms. Nabila Nawsaba Chowdhury, Manager, Technical Service Department, Square Pharmaceuticals PLC. They shared their academic and professional experiences and encouraged the students to focus on continuous learning and career development.

Following their talks, Assistant Professor and Assistant Proctor Dr. Shawkat Md Aminul Islam stepped up to introduce the students to the university's essential rules and regulations.

The current students shared their experience in the department from the start of their journey while the representatives from the freshers expressed their heartfelt joys and feelings and about their aspirations as they begin a new chapter of their student lives at the Pharmacy department.

The celebration ended with a warm vote of thanks delivered by Dr. Farhana Rizwan, Associate Professor and Convener of the Extracurricular Activities Committee (ECAC), DOP. She extended her thanks to all the participants and the members of ECAC for making the event a successful and memorable one.
