Welcome to the Department of Pharmacy at East West University (EWU). It is my pleasure to extend warm greetings on behalf of our dedicated faculty, staff, and students. Since its establishment in 2003, our department has grown into a dynamic center of excellence in pharmaceutical education and research—where curiosity, professionalism, and innovation converge to prepare future leaders in pharmacy and healthcare.
Our academic programs are designed to meet the evolving demands of the pharmaceutical profession. The Bachelor of Pharmacy (B.Pharm) curriculum, approved by the University Grants Commission (UGC) and accredited by the Pharmacy Council of Bangladesh, integrates rigorous coursework with extensive laboratory training, research projects, industry-linked in-plant training, and regular sessions with industry professionals. Our Master of Pharmacy program further deepens expertise in emerging areas of pharmaceutical sciences, ensuring graduates are prepared for advanced roles in research, clinical settings, and industry.
At EWU, students do more than learn — they compete, explore, and excel. Our students have won the Pharma Olympiad Championship at inter-university festivals and earned awards such as the Best Campus Ambassador Award at national pharma events. These accomplishments reflect the academic strength, teamwork, and professional confidence fostered within our community.
We take pride in bridging theory and practice. Department initiatives include industrial visits to leading pharmaceutical companies, where students observe real-world manufacturing, quality control, and research processes. We make classroom learning tangible and help students transition smoothly into professional careers.
Our faculty are highly qualified and actively engaged in research of international repute. They have earned recognition at national and international research conferences and through competitive fellowships, reflecting the department’s strong commitment to cutting-edge research and meaningful global academic engagement. A large number of our teachers have Doctoral degrees (PhD) and have many peer-reviewed scientific publications in different national and international journals. The Department of Pharmacy is committed to continuous professional development, encouraging sustained training, research engagement, and higher academic pursuits for students and faculty alike.
Beyond the classroom, the department cultivates a dynamic environment where learning extends into real-world impact. We host events such as World Pharmacists Day and the annual Pharma Carnival, which bring together students, faculty, industry leaders, and alumni to celebrate innovation, foster professional networks, and deepen societal engagement.
Our mission is to prepare graduates with the knowledge, ethical foundation, and leadership skills to contribute meaningfully to healthcare, research, and industry—both here in Bangladesh and abroad.
