Antibiotic resistance has become a buzzing word in the healthcare setup as a result of its negative impact on human health and treatment. In order to spread awareness among students, teachers and other stakeholders, Department of Pharmacy, East West University has arranged a seminar on “Antibiotic resistance, a silent killer: Bangladesh scenario in global perspective” on March 19, 2023 at its premises. The seminar was chaired by Professor Dr. Mohammed Farashuddin, Chief Advisor and Founder Vice Chancellor of East West University. Dr. Md. Anwar Hossain Howlader, Honorable Secretary of the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Government of the People’s Republic of Bangladesh, graced the session as Chief Guest and Dr. Md. Anwar Hossain, Vice Chancellor, Jashore University of Science and Technology, delivered the keynote speech. Mr. Md. Nasser Shahrear Zahedee, member of the Board of Trustees, East West University and Chairman, Radiant Pharmaceuticals Ltd., was present as special guest. Professor Dr. M. M. Shahidul Hasan, Vice Chancellor of East West University welcomed the guests participated in the seminar. Many distinguished professionals from reputed pharmaceutical industries and heath sector of Bangladesh were also present in this event. This time demanding seminar will play a key role in prevention of antibiotic resistance, spreading awareness and in the establishment of rational use of antibiotics.
