Seminar on Ground Improvement Technology and its applications by Civil engineers from Fudo Tetra Corporation, Japan

It is a great pleasure to announce that a team of civil engineers from Fudo Tetra Corporation Japan delivered an insightful presentation on ground improvement technology and its applications to the teachers and students of the civil engineering department. Their lecture focused on the design and construction methods of Sand Compaction Piles (SCP) for the Dhaka MRT Line 6. Civil engineering students learned that applying SCP in soft soils resulted in higher Standard Penetration Test (SPT) values and decreased consolidation settlement. During the presentation, both students and faculty observed that the use of SCP significantly reduced the risk of liquefaction at multiple locations throughout Japan. As a result, the ground improvement efforts carried out by the Fudo Tetra team are considered cost-effective solutions.

After the lecture, the visiting team of Japanese engineers toured the civil engineering laboratories at EWU. Faculty members and laboratory staff showcased the equipment to the Japanese engineers.

At the end of the guest lecture event, Dr. Mohammad Kamruzzaman Talukder expressed sincere gratitude on behalf of the faculty and students of the civil engineering department to the engineering team from Fudo Tetra Cooptation: Mr. Yuki Imai, Mr. Yotaro Kubo, Mr. Hiroshi Fukuzumi, and Mr. Mahabub Sadiq, for their sincere contributions to the lecture.
