CIVIL STUDENTS OF EWU SHOWCASED INNOVATIVE SOLUTIONS AT BUILTECH FEST 5.0 at KUET

Students of the Civil Engineering department at East West University (EWU) made a remarkable impression at the BUILTECH Fest 5.0 organized by the Department of Building Engineering and Construction Management (BECM), Khulna University of Engineering and Technology (KUET). This exciting event was held on February 29th at the scenic KUET campus, attracting participants from various renowned institutions like KUET, BUET, RUET, CUET, IUT, MIST, JUST, PUST etc. and exhibited their innovative solutions in the field of civil engineering and architecture. The event was graced and inaugurated by the presence by Prof. Dr. Muhammad Alamgir, Member of the University Grants Commission (UGC), who graced the occasion with his esteemed presence. Participants from EWU Civil Engineering department were the only participating groups from private universities. Two Civil Engineering teams from EWU -Team 3R and Team Red Fort, showcased their promising and innovative ideas in the poster presentation segment. Apart from poster presentation, the contest included CAD Master, Mechanics Mania, Management Mastermind, Visual Rendering (3D), and Technical Writing.

Team 3R comprising Iftekhar Ahmed, Tunazzin Karim, and Fariha Nowrin, presented a compelling project titled "Recycling of Cigarette Butts in Concrete and Asphalt Concrete." The project aimed at recycling cigarette butts to produce eco-friendly and sustainable construction materials. Led by Arafat Ibna Wohab, Tanvir Ahmed, and Arafat Bin Azhar, Team Red Fort introduced their project titled "Sustainable Rooftop Green Technologies for Innovative Land Use Management." The focus of this innovative proposing was optimizing rooftop spaces through gardening and utilization of renewable energy solutions for maintenance.

Both projects received appreciation from the esteemed panel of judges, for their creativity and solution of contemporary challenges.
