The Department of Pharmacy, East West University, organized a seminar under its Distinguished Lecture Series on 4 August 2026 on the theme, "The Future Pharmacist: AI, Pharma 4.0 and the Skills Required to Lead the Next Generation Pharmaceutical Industry."

The program commenced with a warm welcome and opening remarks by Professor Dr. Md. Amirul Islam, Chairperson, Department of Pharmacy, East West University.

The seminar featured Muhammad Zahid Al Beruni, Director of Operations, ACI Pharmaceuticals PLC, as the distinguished speaker. Drawing on his extensive industry experience, he shared valuable insights into the transformative role of artificial intelligence, the emergence of Pharma 4.0, and the essential competencies future pharmacists must develop to thrive in an evolving pharmaceutical landscape. The session concluded with an engaging question-and-answer segment, where students and faculty members actively participated in insightful discussions.

The event concluded with remarks from Professor Dr. Mohammad Ashiq Mosaddik, Honorable Pro-Vice Chancellor of East West University, who emphasized the significance of strengthening academia–industry collaboration in preparing graduates for the future of healthcare and pharmaceutical sciences.
