EWU Pharmacy Department Welcomes Spring 2026 Freshers

The Department of Pharmacy, East West University convened the Orientation Program on 8 January 2026 for Spring’26 Freshers to formally welcome newly admitted students and introduce them to the academic, professional, and ethical standards of the discipline.

The program was honored by the presence of Professor Dr. Mohammad Ashik Mosaddik as the Chief Guest, whose valuable insights and encouragement added significant academic value to the event. The session commenced with welcome remarks delivered by the Chairperson of the Department, Professor Dr. Md. Amirul Islam. He formally introduced the Department and articulated its steadfast commitment to academic excellence, innovative research, and holistic professional development.

Senior faculty members Professor Dr. Chowdhury Faiz Hossain and Professor Dr. Shamsun Nahar Khan subsequently addressed the gathering, reinforcing the Department's scholarly vision and support systems.

A pivotal segment of the orientation featured addresses by eminent alumni of the Department. They shared their professional experiences and perspectives, offering the new students invaluable guidance on academic foundations, industry expectations, and career trajectories. The alumni speakers included Dr. Habib Sakil (Head of Production, Biolamina AB, Sweden), Mr. Md. Addnan Abdullah (Deputy General Manager, Marketing, Ziska Pharmaceuticals PLC), and Ms. Sushoma Bishwas Chaity (Deputy Manager, Marketing, Synovia Pharma PLC).

Dr. Shawkat Md. Aminul Islam then outlined essential university protocols and proctorial guidelines, ensuring students were acquainted with institutional standards. This was followed by a heartfelt segment where both current and incoming student representatives shared their experiences and aspirations, fostering a sense of community.

The program concluded with a formal vote of thanks delivered by Dr. Farhana Rizwan, Associate Professor and Convener of the Extra-Curricular Activities Committee.
