Seminar on ‘Challenges in Designing High Rise Buildings’
On 3rd May, 2023 the Department of Civil Engineering at East West University organized a seminar to discuss the challenges in designing high-rise buildings. The session took place at the Jalaluddin Ahmed Lecture Gallery with full student participation. Engr. Md. Ahsan Habib, principal structural engineer and founder of the Center for Structural Associates, took the chair as the guest. Dr. Md. Naimul Haque, the departmental chairperson, welcomed the invitee, with a flower bouquet and introduced him to the students.
Later on, Engr. Md. Ahsan Habib started his presentation, by showcasing what type of challenges engineers usually face, the type of challenges he had to face while working on many high-rise building projects, and the type of measures that were taken to tackle those challenges. His useful guidance made the session more interactive as the students joined the Q&A session. They asked several questions comprising their textual knowledge. The session got more delightful when the honorable faculty Dr. Mohammad Kamruzzaman Talukdar made some valuable discussions with the guest.
To conclude the seminar, Engr. Md. Ahsan Habib was honored with a crest by the honorable chairperson Dr. Md. Naimul Haque on behalf of the Department of Civil Engineering, East West University. Engr. Habib invited the students to visit once one of his ongoing projects for gaining fruitful practical knowledge.
