Jarin Tasnim Heia is an environmental and civil engineer whose research centers on wastewater treatment and reuse, sustainable urban water infrastructure, and clean energy assessment through life cycle analysis. She completed her M.Sc. in Environmental Engineering at Tohoku University in Japan as a MEXT scholar, where her research examined the global and local health impacts of wastewater reclamation for agricultural irrigation using life cycle assessment and quantitative microbial risk assessment tools. She previously earned her B.Sc. in Civil Engineering with top academic distinction, focusing on structural performance enhancement using advanced composite materials.
Her professional experience spans international development work, municipal engineering projects, and university level teaching in structural and water resources engineering. Her current work integrates environmental risk assessment, data driven analysis, and sustainability focused policy evaluation to support resilient infrastructure and responsible resource management in rapidly urbanizing regions.
