Abida Sultana is a Lecturer in the Department of Pharmacy at East West University. She obtained her Bachelor of Pharmacy (Professional) from the Department of Pharmacy and Master of Pharmacy in Pharmaceutical Chemistry from the Department of Pharmaceutical Chemistry, Faculty of Pharmacy, University of Dhaka. Prior to joining East West University, she served as a Lecturer in the Department of Pharmacy at State University of Bangladesh. She also worked as a Research Assistant at the Molecular Pharmacology and Herbal Drug Research Laboratory, Department of Pharmaceutical Chemistry, University of Dhaka, under a University Grants Commission (UGC)-funded Higher Education Quality Enhancement Project (HEQEP). Her research focuses on natural products and medicinal plants, with particular interests in phytochemical extraction and characterization, in vitro and in vivo pharmacological evaluation, plant extract-mediated nanoparticle synthesis and characterization, and in silico molecular docking for drug discovery. She is committed to integrating research with teaching to promote excellence in pharmacy education.
• Phytochemical extraction and characterization of medicinal plants.
• In vivo pharmacological evaluation using rodent models (e.g., antidiabetic, antihypertensive, and anti-inflammatory studies).
• In vitro pharmacological screening of Bangladeshi medicinal plants, including antioxidant, cytotoxic, anticancer, and antimicrobial activities.
• Green synthesis, characterization, and biological evaluation of plant extract-mediated nanoparticles.
• In silico molecular docking and computer-aided drug discovery.
