The Department of Mathematics and Data Science at East West University (EWU) has successfully completed a seven-session workshop on COMSOL Multiphysics, with the final session held on 13 August 2026.

COMSOL Multiphysics is a powerful computational tool widely used for modeling and simulating complex real-world phenomena involving heat transfer, fluid flow, structural mechanics, electromagnetics, and other physical processes through mathematical and differential equation-based models. Developing skills in such software can significantly enhance research and computational capabilities in science and engineering.

The workshop, which began on 18 June 2026, was held every Thursday and attracted enthusiastic participation from faculty members and students of the department. Md. Faisal Alam, Lecturer, Department of Applied Mathematics, Gono University, served as the resource person.

Through interactive lectures, demonstrations, and hands-on exercises, participants learned to develop mathematical models and simulate various real-life scenarios using different types of differential equations. The practical and application-oriented sessions were well received, providing participants with an engaging opportunity to connect theoretical knowledge with computational applications.

The workshop reflects the department's continued efforts to strengthen research and computational skills among its faculty members and students.
