Dr. Md. Mongur Hossain specializes in the synthesis and characterization of two-dimensional (2D) materials, particularly transition metal dichalcogenides (TMDs). He earned his Ph.D. in Nanoscience and Technology from the University of Chinese Academy of Sciences, Beijing, China, in 2019, and subsequently pursued postdoctoral research at Hunan University, China (2019–2022), and the University of Stuttgart, Germany (2022–2023). He is currently an Assistant Professor in the Department of Mathematics and Data Science at East West University, Dhaka, Bangladesh, and serves as an Editorial Board Member of Discover Condensed Matter, published by Springer Nature.
Dr. Hossain has published 24 SCI-indexed journal articles, which have received over 1,500 citations (Google Scholar, August 2026). His research interests include 2D materials and nanostructures for energy, environmental, and electronic applications.
2024/10-Present: Assistant Professor, Department of Mathematics and Data Science (formerly the Department of Mathematical and Physical Sciences), East West University, Dhaka 1212, Bangladesh.
