I have been serving as an Assistant Professor since June 2021 in the Department of Mathematical and Physical Sciences (MPS) under the faculty of Sciences and Engineering (FSE) at East West University (EWU), Dhaka. I had started my academic career as a Lecturer of Mathematics in 1999 at Ahsanullah University of Science and Technology (AUST), Dhaka just after completing my B. Sc. (Hons. in Mathematics) and M.Sc. in Applied Mathematics from the University of Dhaka. Later on, I had been promoted to Assistant Professor of Mathematics there before leaving Dhaka to Japan for pursuing Ph. D. in 2004. However, prior to joining at EWU, I had been working as a Designated Lecturer (≈ Associate Professorship rank), in G30 Automotive Engineering Program under the Department of Mechanical Systems Engineering at Nagoya University (NU), Japan. It should be noted here that I have dual degrees in Science (i.e., Applied Mathematics), and Engineering (i.e., Combustion Dynamics). In March 2010, I have received my Ph. D. on Numerical Combustion Dynamics from the Department of Mechanical Engineering at The University of Tokyo (UTokyo), Japan. After receiving my Ph D. from UTokyo, I had been working as a Postdoctoral researcher funded by JAXA and JNES at different Universities of Japan [i.e., Hokkaido University (HU) & Toyohashi University of Technology (TUT)] for around 10 years on various challenging topics of combustion dynamics. However, I would like to state here, without being boastful about myself, that I have around 20 years’ professional experiences (teaching and research) and a pretty longer period of independent research experience in the field of Thermofluids. The capabilities as highlighted have assisted me to become a professionally matured educator/mentor in Applied Mathematics. Hence, my research experiences (HU and TUT) and teaching experiences (AUST and NU) are expected to be the unique and sufficiently distinctive in nature due to the fact of involving huge practical application of Mathematics in modelling combustion dynamics. So, I am very much confident that I will be able to let our students know very distinctly about how does ‘Applied Mathematics (AM)’ govern the complex physical phenomena related to practical problems (PP) and how does ‘AM’ contribute to the deeper understandings about the underlying physical process of ‘PP’. Consequently, the most common apathy of our students’ will be gone away in learning Mathematics. Thus, I expect that the students at FSE of EWU will enjoy, feel comfortable instead of getting bore, pay more attention, and self-inspiring to my lectures of Mathematics in the classroom. However, due to the above facts, currently I am serving as an active reviewer for more than 30 International Journals and I also belong to the Editorial Board member, Reviewers’ Board member, Advisory panel member of several Science and Engineering Journals. Moreover, I had been awarded research grant, as a PI of Combustion related research project funded by Hokkaido Gas Com. Ltd., a good number of research travel grants, for attending International conference in European, American and Asian countries, funded by different prestigious finding bodies of Japan. Besides, currently I am also serving as a Moderator of Science Club at EWU. That’s all about myself and my professional activities.
