Achievement Details

Fakir Mashuque Alamgir, Assistant professor in the Department of EEE, completed his PhD in Deep Learning under the Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering (EEE) from the University of Dhaka in 2024. The degree was awarded to him in a meeting of the syndicate held on November 13, 2024. Professor Dr. Niaz Ahmad Khan, Vice-Chancellor of Dhaka University, presided over the meeting. His PhD supervisor was Professor Dr. Shafiul Alam.

His PhD research, titled 'Facial Emotion Recognition using Deep Learning to Identify Problems Related to Mental Health,' focused on the detection of autism spectrum disorder (ASD) by analyzing facial images of special children, contributing to the advancement of AI-based tools in mental healthcare.
