East West University’s student Rafid Adnan Khan received the prestigious, Prime Minister Gold Medal for his outstanding academic results. The award is offered by the University Grants Commission (UGC) Bangladesh. Rafid completed his graduation from the Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering in 2016. He achieved a CGPA of 4.00. He also achieved the highest GPA in his secondary and higher secondary examinations. Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina placed the gold medal on Rafid’s neck in a simple ceremony on 25 February 2018 Sunday morning. On the occasion, 265 students of public and private universities of the country were all given gold medals. Among the 96 private universities of the country however, only two received gold medals.

The Chairperson of the Board of Trustee, East West University, Dr. Mohammed Farashuddin and Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr. M. M. Shahidul Hassan congratulated Rafid for receiving the prestigious gold medal. In the future, Rafid wants to work on renewable energy.
