Dr. Muhammed Mazharul Islam is a faculty member in the Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering (EEE) at East West University (EWU), Bangladesh, where he has been teaching and driving academic innovation since 2010. He holds a Doctor of Engineering (D.Engg.) and a Master of Engineering (M.Engg.) from Yamaguchi University, Japan , alongside a B.Sc. in Engineering from Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (BUET).
Dr. Islam's research interests lie at the intersection of pattern recognition, machine learning, embedded systems, and applied engineering applications. He served as the Chairperson of the EEE Department from 2015 to 2017 , during which he played a foundational role in implementing Outcome-Based Education (OBE) frameworks. Beyond curriculum development and mentoring students, he is actively involved in industrial consultancy, peer reviewing for prestigious journals like Elsevier, and developing custom software tools to streamline academic quality assurance processes.
