Microsoft Azure Cloud Infrastructure: The Future of Cloud Computing and Job Prospect

The Department of Computer Science and Engineering, East West University, organized a seminar titled “Microsoft Azure Cloud Infrastructure: The Future of Cloud Computing and Job Prospect” in the S.M. Nousher Ali Lecture Gallery (Room No. 126) of East West University at 3.00 PM on 6 September 2022. The program started with a flower bouquet to welcome the guest of the event. Dr. Shamim H Ripon, Professor, Department of Computer Science and Engineering, and Dr. Ahmed Wasif Reza, Associate Professor, Department of Computer Science and Engineering expressed their gratitude to the department for holding the seminar on such a significant topic in their welcome speech, respectively. The guest of the event, Mr. Daud Hossain, Senior Director of Software Engineering, Microsoft Corporation, Redmond, Washington, USA was the keynote speaker at the seminar. Mr. Daud has 18+ years of experience in the software industry including 15+ years with Microsoft Corporation. He is currently contributing to the development of the Microsoft Azure cloud computing platform as a Senior Director of Software Engineering with Azure Core at Microsoft’s headquarter. For the last 12+ years (2012 to present), he has been working on various core services in the Microsoft Azure platform. His most recent focus is on the virtual machine (VM) deployment and provisioning performance at scale on Azure. 

Mr. Daud Hossain shared his experience on Azure architecture at a very high level where he showed how azure worked and also demonstrated how his teams contributed to solving VM deployment performance at a large scale. Finally, he spoke about the hiring process and job prospects in the field of cloud computing. The event was successful, as all seats were occupied by the students. Unfortunately, due to the limitation of seating arrangements, many students could not attend the event. Many students participated in a question and answer session where they cleared their doubts about the job market and the hiring process. Dr. Taskeed Jabid, Chairperson and Associate Professor, Department of Computer Science and Engineering, East West University, presented the crest to the speaker after the session and the seminar ended with a group photo of the speaker, faculty members, participants, and organizers.
