EWU–Walton Strategic Collaboration Meeting
A high-level meeting between East West University (EWU) and Walton Hi-Tech Industries PLC was held on 5 October 2026 at the VC Conference Room, EWU, to explore strategic industry–academia collaboration.
The meeting was attended by Mr. Nazrul Islam Sarker, Additional Managing Director, and Mr. Ariful Ambia, Senior Executive Director, Walton Hi-Tech Industries PLC. EWU was represented by the Acting Vice Chancellor, Dean of FSE, Chairpersons of various academic departments, and Executive Director, CRT.
Discussions focused on joint research and innovation, industry–academia collaborative projects, student internships and industrial attachments, industry-sponsored capstone projects, guest lectures, technical seminars, professional development, and industrial visits.
Both sides also explored opportunities for joint training and workshops, technology transfer, innovation challenges, and commercialization of research outcomes, with emphasis on connecting EWU’s academic and research strengths with Walton’s industrial expertise and real-world technological challenges.
The meeting marked an important step toward developing concrete and sustainable collaboration in research, innovation, education, skills development, and technology advancement between EWU and Walton.
Academic offerings include 95 majors, 86 minors, and more than 100 in-major specializations and more than 100 in-major specializations
