Md. Anwar Hossain Adib is a dedicated academic and researcher currently serving as a lecturer in the Department of Genetic Engineering and Biotechnology at East West University. He earned his Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees from the Department of Genetic Engineering and Biotechnology at the University of Dhaka, where he consistently excelled in his studies. His outstanding academic performance earned him the prestigious Dean’s Award during his undergraduate degree, and he went on to secure the top position in his MS with a perfect CGPA of 4.00/4.00. He also received the Government Scholarship 2020 for his undergraduate results.
Adib’s MS thesis, titled “Isolation and Identification of Novel Soil Bacteria from Metagenomically Defined Soil Sample Collected from Bangladeshi Paddy Field Soil,” focused on the identification of new soil bacteria with significant traits, merging the fields of microbial biotechnology, metagenomics, and enzyme technology. This work reflects his strong research capabilities and deep interest in harnessing microbiological and genetic tools for real-world applications. After completing his studies, Mr. Adib gained practical industry experience by working at Eskayef Pharmaceuticals, where he was involved in various aspects of the pharmaceutical industry, gaining insights into the practical applications of biotechnology in the corporate sector.
Since October 2023, Md. Anwar Hossain Adib has been a lecturer at East West University, where he is actively involved in teaching and research. His research interests include antimicrobial resistance and molecular oncology, fields that are critical to global health and disease management. His is currently involved in multiple projects in these areas, aiming to contribute to the understanding and treatment of these pressing issues. In addition to his teaching and research responsibilities, Md. Anwar Hossain Adib is also serving as the moderator of the Biotech Club at East West University, where he mentors students and fosters a vibrant academic community.
