Faculty Achievements: 

Dr. Mohiuddin Kabir, Associate Professor, GEB department, EWU is serving as a Deputy Editor-in-Chief in the “American Journal of Pure and Applied Biosciences”, as an Associate Editor in the “Journal of Applied Biotechnology and Bioengineering” and as an Editor in the “International Journal of Genetic Engineering and Recombination”.

Dr Mohiuddin Kabir received Certificate of Appreciation from Center of Excellence in Life Science (CELS) on 25 September 2021 for serving as a “Member of Advisory Board” of India's Premier Life Sciences Article Writing Competition and Certificate of Appreciation in Reviewing on 26 November 2021 to review the manuscripts for the “Journal of Pharmaceutical Research International”.

Students’ Achievements:

Recently the students of GEB, EWU are working as active members of NYBB (Network of Young Biotechnologists of Bangladesh), a platform for Biotechnology students of Bangladesh. As members of NYBB, they are organizing different events like seminars, symposiums and conferences, and they are contributing in different events organized by NYBB as contestants as well. NYBB created a committee of students from each university named ‘Student Chapter’. Thus a committee has been selected from East West University named East West University Student Chapter. East West University Student Chapter successfully organized 2- Minutes Biotalk, organized a prestigious program named Conversation with Nobel Laureate, actively took part in arranging DNA Day Celebration 2021, organized a webniar on Higher Education Opportunities offered by Erasmus Mundus Programs, successfully organized GNOBB National Biotechnology Quiz Challenge 2021 in association with Network of Young Biotechnologists of Bangladesh (NYBB).

East West University Student Chapter achieved the Best Student Chapter Award from Network of Young Biotechnologists of Bangladesh in 2021.

Inan Rahman and Sadia Afrin, students of the department of GEB, EWU achieved the 1st Runner up position in International Symposium on Integrated Management and Treatment of Cancers (IMTC-2020) Idea Challenge organized by Cancer Care & Research Trust Bangladesh (CCRTB) where channel 24 was a Media Partner.

Inan Rahman, a student of the department of GEB, EWU became 2nd in the Quiz Competition on "World Heart Day" organized by International Association of Students in Agriculture and Related Sciences Bangladesh (IAAS) Bangladesh, Islamic University Bangladesh (IU) on 29 September, 2021.

Jannatul Ferdous Nipa, a student of the department of GEB, EWU achieved the 1st runner-up position in business idea presentation in "International Biotech Symposium-2021" an international conference organized by Community of Biotechnology and co-organized by Institute of Biotechnology and Genetic Engineering, Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujhibur Rahman held from February 13 to 20, 2021.
