Prof. Dr. Mohammad Tariqur Rahman is currently with the Department of Genetic Engineering and Biotechnology at East West University, Dhaka, Bangladesh, where he also served as the Founding Chairman of the Department of Pharmacy in 2004. Previously, he served as a faculty member in the Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Sciences and as Associate Dean (Continuing Education) at the Faculty of Dentistry, University of Malaya. He was also the founding President of the Malaysian Society for Oral Microbiologists and Oral Immunologists (2018–2020). Before joining University of Malaya, Prof Tariq was a faculty member of the Faculty of Science at International Islamic University Malaysia (2005-2015) and Biotechnology Discipline at Khulna University (1996-2004). In addition to the research publications, Prof Tariq has been the leading editor of the books Immunology of Dentistry (Wiley & Sons) and Handbook of Dental Education Technology (Springer). His research spans oral immunology, metallobiochemistry, stem cell biology, and scientometrics. He has been a regular contributor to Malaysian English-language news media.
