Dr. Gurudas Mandal received his Ph. D in Physics from University of Pune, Pune, India in 2003. In the same year he joined as a faculty member of Physics in the
Department Mathematical & Physical Science, East West University, Dhaka, Bangladesh and still the date he is in the Department as a Professor of Physics.
He has contribution in research in the areas of atmospheric electricity, cosmology and dusty plasma physics.
He has published more than 30 peer-reviewed papers in international journals and also reviewed many journal articles.
In addition to his teaching and research, he has been serving the department as a chairperson.

Prof. Dr. Gurudas Mandal attended an international conference “International Conference on Recent Advances in Renewable Energy (RARE 2020)”, 7-9th February 2020, at NITK, Surathkal, India as a keynote speaker. He delivered his keynote speech on “Prospects of renewable energy sector in Bangladesh” in the conference. He also served as the program chair in one of the sessions.
