Dr. Nafis Sadeq

Dr. Nafis Sadeq is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Computer Science and Engineering at East West University, Bangladesh. He earned his Ph.D. in Computer Science from the University of California San Diego (UCSD) in 2025. He also holds both M.Sc. and B.Sc. degrees in Computer Science and Engineering from Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (BUET).

His research spans Conversational AI, Recommender Systems, and Large Language Models (LLMs), with notable contributions in areas such as parametric knowledge, hallucination mitigation, inductive reasoning, and conversational recommendation. He has published in leading venues including EMNLP, NAACL, ICASSP, EACL, WWW, and LREC and actively serves as a reviewer for top-tier conferences like ACL, ICLR, and EMNLP.

Dr. Nafis brings industry experience from internships at Intuit and Samsung Semiconductor Inc., where he worked on retrieval-augmented generation, goal-oriented conversational agents, and customer-facing AI assistants. Prior to academia, he served as a software engineer at Samsung R&D Institute Bangladesh and REVE Systems.
