Industrial Visit to Beximco Pharmaceuticals PLC.
A group of students from the Department of Pharmacy, East West University had the opportunity to be engaged in a one-day comprehensive industrial excursion to the state-of-the-art facilities of Beximco Pharmaceuticals PLC., a cornerstone of the pharmaceutical sector in Bangladesh. The students were accompanied by the faculty members of the department, Dr. Farhana Rizwan, Associate Professor & convenor of ECAC, Dr. Farjana Khatun, Associate Professor, Dr. Shawkat Md. Aminul Islam, Assistant Professor, Mr. Mamunur Rahman, Senior Lecturer, Mr. Omar Faruk, Senior Lecturer and Ms. Ripa Kundu, Lecturer.
This visit provided the prospective pharmacists an excellent link between academic theory and professional practice, offering the students a rare, behind-the-scenes perspective on the complexities of large-scale manufacturing across solid, semisolid, and liquid dosage forms.
Beyond the production lines, the group also explored the Quality Control and Research and Development units, where they witnessed how sophisticated analytical precision and innovative formulation strategies ensure the safety and efficacy of modern medicine manufacturing. By interacting with industry experts and observing real-world quality assurance protocols, the students gained a profound appreciation for the rigorous standards of the pharmaceutical industry, transforming their classroom knowledge into a tangible understanding of their future careers.
The exposure to real-world pharmaceutical operations, quality systems, and research activities made the tour a memorable and highly educational experience for the students.
