Achievement Details

Network of Young Biotechnologists of Bangladesh (NYBB) working for the betterment of Biotechnology since 2006, an affiliated body of Global Network of Bangladeshi Biotechnologists (GNOBB). NYBB has been one of the pioneering organizations to bring all individuals related to biotechnology on one platform. During the time at NYBB, East West University (EWU) student chapter members took part in several student welfare activities as well as events that promoted biotechnology in Bangladesh. As part of their key responsibilities, they have provided voluntary service in arranging Biotech Career Fest 2021, Conversation with Nobel Laureate 2021(Andrew Z.Fire: 2006 Nobel Prize winner for the discovery of RNAi technology), GNOBB National Biotechnology Quiz Challenge 2021, and National Future Researcher's Challenge 2022. They were awarded the Best Student Chapter award for exceptional dedication to NYBB in 2021 and 2022. Inan Rahman former Assistant Vice President (Events and Activities Wing) and Chair of EWU student chapter of the 2nd National Steering Committee received the Most Enthusiastic Member award along with Executive Members and Co-chair of the previous EWU chapter. Nishat Tamanna Rahman (Co Chair), Reduan Raihan (Treasurer), Executive members Soaibur Rahman, Esha Mohammed Omer, Ashraful Mia, Arman Husain, Mim Morsalin Keya also received the Most Enthusiastic Member awards for the years 2021 and 2022. The award giving ceremony took place on 20th December, Friday at the Central Kochi Kacha Auditorium in Dhaka where NYBB arranged the Bangladesh National Biotechnology Thesis Presentation Contest - 2024 for the first time. The event was supported by the Disease Biology and Molecular Epidemiology Research Group, Chittagong, and Cancer Care and Research Trust Bangladesh (CCRT).
