FIRST FIELD SURVEY OF FALL 2025 SEMESTER, HELD IN AFTABNAGAR PLAYGROUND, DHAKA.
The Department of Civil Engineering at East West University successfully launched its first field survey of the Fall 2025 semester on November 2nd. Students from the "Surveying and Introduction to GIS" (CE103/CE7103) courses traveled to Aftabnagar Playground to apply their classroom knowledge in a practical, real-world setting.
The initiative saw enthusiastic students engaging in a variety of hands-on surveying tasks, providing them with direct exposure to real-world challenges. The event was meticulously planned and overseen by two dedicated faculty members and four lab officers, who guided the students as they tackled practical problems. This field survey is a cornerstone of the department's commitment to experiential learning. The primary goal was to move beyond textbook theory, allowing students to deepen their understanding of the subject, reinforce key concepts, and significantly hone their problem-solving skills.
The university administration demonstrated its strong support for this practical approach to education by covering all associated expenses for the event. The invaluable experience gained is expected to enhance student proficiency in using surveying equipment and effectively prepare them for the technical challenges they will face in their future professional careers.
