The students of the Department of Pharmacy, East West University, had the opportunity to visit the well-equipped facilities of ACI PLC, one of the largest pharmaceutical manufacturers in Bangladesh, on May 09, 2026. This visit offered the students a comprehensive understanding of potential career paths and the innovative technologies shaping the future of the pharmaceutical industry.

At the beginning of the tour, Muhammad Zahid Al Beruni, Director of Operations of ACI PLC, delivered a welcome speech and briefly described the facilities of the plant. Our respected faculty members, Dr. Farhana Rizwan, Associate Professor & Convener of ECAC, and Ms. Rupali Ghosh, Senior Lecturer, guided the students throughout the tour along with expert representatives from different departments of ACI PLC.

The visit provided valuable insights into the innovative and efficient processes involved in manufacturing solid, liquid, and semi-solid dosage forms, from dispensing APIs to packaging finished products. The students also visited the largest warehouse with central dispensing facilities, which enriched them with practical exposure to their theoretical knowledge.

During the tour, the students explored the sophisticated quality control laboratory, where they observed demonstrations of regulatory procedures that ensure compliance with industry standards and maintenance of product quality. They also became acquainted with the working procedures of the research and development department.

The students thoroughly enjoyed the visit, showed great interest and interaction throughout the sessions, and engaged in fruitful scientific discussions with the representatives. This integration of real-world expertise equipped them with valuable knowledge and networking opportunities, creating memories to cherish for a lifetime.
